Ankara's grand strategy: 91 drone production facilities and 40 commando brigades
Ambassador Emeritus Pericles Nearchou shares his insights on geopolitical and political developments on BankingNews.gr television, BN tv, during the show MAGGA. Speaking with Angie Stathatou, the Ambassador Emeritus discussed the US Deep State and the advocates of globalization—a group to which the European elite also belongs—who appear to have Donald Trump in their crosshairs. Beyond the third attempt against the American President, Mr. Nearchos touched upon the Iran conflict, noting that US and Israeli intelligence services were proven wrong regarding Tehran's resilience.
The new Erdoğan doctrine
Western powers failed to predict the decentralization of power in the case of Iran; however, what causes significant concern is that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is following a similar "shock plan" of decentralization, at least regarding drone factories. "Production units for unmanned aerial vehicles are being established in 91 regions, with the aim for Ankara to develop a comprehensive drone air force," the Ambassador points out. He also highlights the expansion of Turkey's special forces, with commando brigades set to increase to 40, up from the current 25.
Despite these moves, recent alliances between Greece, Cyprus, and Israel, as well as Greece, Cyprus, and France, are causing concern in Ankara. "The Turks are worried, and that is exactly what we want; we want them to worry so that an end is put to their megalomania," Pericles Nearchos emphasizes. He explains that peace and "calm waters" in the Aegean require a strong Greece with a powerful deterrence capability. At the same time, he argues that "some individuals, fortunately not many—primarily professors from ELIAMEP—are putting the 12 nautical miles on the negotiating table."
Karystianou to be tested in practice
Commenting on current political affairs, Mr. Nearchos refers to issues of corruption, cover-ups, and the perceived lack of Justice. Regarding the political movement initiated by Maria Karystianou, he maintains that "she will prove in practice whether she can truly bring about change."
